We have several fashion designers in this world who are always updated with the latest fashion or we can say who have perfect fashion sense. 1. Christian Dior
Yes, this is that kind of list. Christian Dior was born in France. And, his clothing does speak to us in French. From smaller shoulder to lower hemline dresses. Dior gave French clothing a new meaning and to this date, most of us, dream about wearing a Dior gown.
2. Coco Chanel
Every great designer is born in France I guess. Coco Chanel is one of the best fashion designers who made casual clothes elegant. She ruled the fashion world for over 60 years. And, she’s still ruling it. Coco Chanel introduced a fragrance called Chanel No.5 which is the possibly the most famous fragrance till date.
3. Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana
This Italian pair announced themselves in Milan Fashion Week In 1985. They came up with a clothing line up called “Sicilian widow” where they played with black lace. In one of Madonna’s Cannes Film Festival appearance, she wore a Dolce & Gabbana bejeweled corset. Then, there was no looking back from there. The esteemed brand is known for its experiments with animal prints and colours.
4. Valentino
Valentino is one of the best fashion designers. The most respected and well-regarded fashion designer in the world. He left his home in 1949 to get educated about fashion formally in Paris. Few years after, he did his course he met Giancarlo Giammetti who later on became his business partner. They created a brand which you might have heard of called Valentino. Valentino got so famous that they have this unique shade of red which is called Valentino Red.
5. Ralph Lauren
Ralph Lauren is not like all tradition fashion designers. He came from a poor family in New York and he changed his name from Ralph Lipschitz Lauren to Ralph Lauren because he got bullied in school. He did a day job as a salesman and took business classes at night. As they say hard work always pays off. Today Ralph Lauren stands on 7.3 billion dollars of net worth. Lipschitz doesn’t sound so funny now huh?
6. Miuccia Prada
Miuccia Prada did a political science degree and later joined the communist party. She was the least likely successor to take over Fashion House called Prada. But, later she went on to join the family business in 1970. Prada as a brand was hitting its lowest in the 70s’ so, Miuccia Prada came along to revive the business. She introduced Pocono Nylon hand handbags which were water-resistant. Handbags didn’t take off immediately, they re-launched the bags with a gold chain and the signature logo. And, those are the handbags we know and love. So we can consider her one of the best fashion designers now.
7. Giorgio Armani
Giorgio Armani experimented so much with fabrics and fashion in general. He made well-fitted suits for men with fabric which is usually worn by women. Because he wanted to soften the image of men’s clothing. He also introduced us to power suits for women picking up elements from men’s suits. Giorgio Armani is known for his tailored suits for both men and women. Later, he introduced fragrances, sportswear, and couture dresses.
8. Hubert De Givenchy
Hubert De Givenchy attended art school. He worked for many well-known fashion houses like Elsa Schiaparelli’s. Givenchy opened his own fashion housed in 1952 which majorly consisted of coats and ball gowns which gained a lot of attention globally. Givenchy designed for Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” that bosomed princess dress is talked about to this day.
9. Donatella Versace and Gianni Versace
Gianni Versace introduced the world with street culture and dressed many iconic people like Princess Diana. Donatella joined his brother’s brand in 1970 and helped him build the brand. Gianni Versace was murdered about 20 years ago in Miami. Then, Donatella took over the business and now is acting as a Chief Designer and Vice President of the business.
10. Calvin Klein
Calvin Klein is known for its simple and comfortable clothing. And apart from that, they are known for their really controversial ads. Calvin Klein has models like Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, Kendell Jenner and more. Recently, Calvin Klein got into trouble for objectifying young girls. Nonetheless, the brand is doing great despite all the controversies.
